: Love Day 2013 :

I can't believe how fast these past few weeks have gone!  We start off the week full and as the week goes on nights & days fill up and boom!  It's Thursday and we're almost done another week!

Well last week we celebrated Thursday in a special way because it was "Love Day" :: Here are my two littlest love bugs just before school
 DECOR : Love day style
The boys had a few rough days at school through the first weeks of February, so we were not even sure if they were going to get a "Love Day Feast" {as we call it} unless they got their butts in gear at school.  So two nights before love day I brought out a few decor items as their behavior had changed and they deserved Love Day Feast.

:: Our kitchen chalkboard ::
:: Computer Nook ::

:: Counter top details ::

 : I spent a few hours making these little lolli pops I had seen on Pinterest.  We gave these away to Cole's class and I made sugar cookies {I have an awesome recipe from my Aunti Pam} for JJ's class, no photo of the sugar cookies as it was well into the night on the 13th when I finally finished them! :

: Love Day Feast :

On Valentines day we do a meal that we call a "Love Day Feast of Roast Beast" :: We have a full roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, this year I made a strawberry {because it's pink of course!} cake with cream cheese icing as our dessert.

: Here's the table all decorated :
 : Our cake on the table :
: I picked up three balloons for the boys and to use as centerpieces, since I had the polka dot wrapping paper {thanks Ikea!} left over from Christmas it really looked quite coordinated without me putting too much effort into it! :
 : Jacob's place setting :
 : My Mr. came home with a growers bunch {20 stems} of white casablanca lillies.  He had thrown me off the night before saying that roses were the true love flower especially red roses, I however disagree in a major way and don't LOVE roses and especially RED ones, white yes...but not RED! So he did good with the growers bunch and he also got them at cost so that also made me VERY happy ;-) :
 That's it for today, I hope you all had a wonderful LOVE DAY and if this one wasn't that great I pray that next year you can celebrate LOVE in a special way.  We have had our share of not so lovely "Love Days" and I truly consider myself blessed to be able to celebrate our love as a family.

: Fathers Day 2012 :

This week has been such a blur...between end of the year celebrations {2 for each child} plus fathers day on Sunday then my nephews dedication as well.  Oy vey, what a week!

But let's just chat about fathers day :: We usually do our fathers day celebrations with Paul on Saturday as both our dad's are celebrated on Sunday.  But this year I have been fighting a raging cold and when I woke up on Saturday it was a full blown cold.  Plus there was something happening with Paul's family so he had to go off for the better portion of the day and so we didn't get to celebrate on Saturday.

So Sunday morning I woke up at the crack of dawn and made a nice little home made breaky for my man, my baby daddy ;)

French toast was on the menu
 With a nice side of fresh strawberries & cream
Yummo :: Poor Mr. L was a little shocked by the early wake up as Sunday mornings we easily sleep in till 8 am and by all wonders and miracles end up at church on time at 9am.  So a 7am breaky came really early to our bleary eyed faja.
 Mr. L & the boys...they gave him a new car magazine and a new O'neil t-shirt, I got him a pair of golf shoes he had ooogled over at Costco a while ago, however they were a half size too small, but thankfully he found his size in another Costco.
Mr. L :: I'm so thankful that God arranged for us to be together and for you to be the father and daddy to our boys, we cherish and love the man that you are.  No need to shout it from the roof tops for it's evident by your provision and dedication to our family that you love us eternally.

***

And to my Daddy, thanks for always being there to celebrate the small and the big milestones, for knowing that I can trust you and for being an excellent example of what I should look for in a man.  God blessed me when he gave me a Dad like you.  Love you always & forever!
 I'll be back posting on all of our end of the year celebrations this weekend.  The forecast is calling for rain and thus we'll be hunkering down and getting cozy, happy summer ;)

: Weekend Recap :

This weekend was a full one {what weekend isn't really!?!?} -- it was great to have lots of girl time and a good spattering of family time in there as well!

I wasn't around here on Friday as I was preparing a cake for the beautiful Sonia. It was her Canadian wedding shower and her absolutely darling MIL planned a beautiful tea along with one of my cakes. Simply stated, elegant and a little sassy; just like her DIL Sonia. Here is the cake:
Friday night after taking a break from cake making I went to join in celebrating these two lovely peoples..Laura a childhood friend had her second baby, little brother to Kenzie; Levi. Isn't he scrumptious!?!!
The details were perfect! Here is Jessi and the super host Lisa {Laura's older sister} Loved this little frame; gotta find out where Lisa got it!
Such a darling little guy! Congratulations Josh, Laura & Kenzie!
We took some time on the FREEZING cold Saturday afternoon to go fly a kite...it was supposed to be this dreamy family time of flying the kite. In between trying to get the kite up in the killer wind, with the temperature of that wind being less than dreamy, with three out of four of us having no clue how to fly a kite...it wasn't exactly the most delightful family time.
This is the picture I took just before I took the reigns and smoothly and effortlessly smashed Tigger into a nearby cherry blossom tree and got him stuck real good. The Mr. was NOT impressed with my talent in getting Tigger stuck.

Tigger was rescued on Sunday after church and a small fight with the cherry blossom tree. No children or wives were harmed in this lovely family outing ;)
Sunday night we headed out to my parents for my brothers birthday. We had a nice roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Here is my brother and his wife Lindsey {she due to have a baby boy in early April}
*smile*
This was that shot I took just as I said smile...couldn't help but post such a delightful & happy shot! Happy Birthday JORD! I have a feeling 2012 is going to be one of your best years yet ;)
I wasn't on here on Friday but I didn't for get my "52 weeks of blessing" for last week...this is what it was: Small kitchen candle in Pineapple Mango in the colour of the year "Tangerine Tango" -- don't remember how much it was but it wasn't expensive and I just added the cost into my grocery bill so that it wouldn't be an expense on top of my regular shopping.

Card is made up of a paint chip I picked up while walking past a paint shop on my way to the post office..so cute, no?

{Also I have yet to deliver it as Friday I had a change of plans -- but I will do it before this Friday and the next blessing}
Hope you all had a great weekend, our weekend ended with Jacob waking us up at 5 am by puking on our floor and me ushering him towards the washroom stepping in it and well, you know how that goes.

But the sun is out, both my boys are down for naps after a bowl of chicken noodle soup {thanks Cambell's!} and I'm off to do a load or two of puke laundry -- the joys of being a Mama are really endless, no!?!?

Have a great one Lovelies in whatever season you are in, remember the small things are what count the most!

: LOVE Day Feast :

On Valentines day since it was a week night and just the same 'ol normal routine the only thing I could think of doing as a special treat was making a "Love Feast of Roast Beast".

*Our menu*
Roast Beast {as our family calls it}
Potatoes
Carrots
Fresh butter buns
Salad
Pink velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing {for the boys}
Flourless chocolate cake {for the adults}

Daddy had given the boys little Valentine chocolates in the morning and at dinner we placed chocolates on their plates as well as a card and a shared gift of a movie.

Mr. L had gifted himself some new ski's 2 days prior to Vday -- bad timing Mr. L --- but they were a deal he couldn't pass up! So I gifted him a little card, 1 pound of French hazelnut chocolate & the key to my heart. Sweet, simple and to the point {and not expensive either!}
We went around the table after dinner and said 4 things that we love. Some of the things our boys said were so typically "boy" --- for example; trains, chocolate, cars, rocket ships...you know, VERY deep things ;) but it was cute and made them reflect on all we have and what we're so thankful for!
I've just returned from my normal bi-weekly run to the states and so now I've got to unpack the car load of goodies I picked up! Have a great rest of your Tuesday Lovelies! Tomorrow I'll be back for my "What I LOVE Wednesday"

PS. the toe is feeling SO much better today, I'm sure I'll pay for the busy day I had today but all in all I think I'm well on my way to running again! Thanks for your caring comments and emails!

: Phew! :

We had a crazy busy weekend! After we got back from camping, we had a day or so to recover {aka: get organized} for the full weekend ahead!

Saturday started off with the boys being picked up to spend the day in Vancouver with my SIL & In-Laws at the PNE...Thanks again Mum & Dad & Jenn for taking them!

Then we got ready and headed off to see my second Cousin marry his bride

It was an outside garden wedding, which was stunning but unbelievably hot!!!
Beautiful ceremony done by my Uncle Roger {My Dad's older brother} and my Cousin, who is the grooms Grandpa and Uncle, so you can imagine the personal touches that made the ceremony so beautiful!

The lovely couple
Here we are, it was near the end of the night, we were just about to leave...hence the crazy faces! HA!!! No need for any explanation, really! {thanks to my brother Jordan for taking these stellar photos!}

Sunday morning we were up bright and early to head off to church, which was awesome! We're really blessed to go to an unbelievable church and serve such and amazing God.

Right after church we headed to Starbucks for a quick drink and a treat for the boys then on to the VW show that was just minutes from our church...it was a beautiful day but again super hot!

Paul and I have been together for 12 years and missed the VW show one time in those 12 years, so going back in our Beetle for the first time and with our boys made the day SO memorable and special for us both!
Once we were finished up at the VW show we headed to the water park to cool off then home to rest the boys and then freshen up and head out to our friends place down by the beach. What a great night we had there, great food, fellowship, and friends. And more sunshine to boot!
We had a fabulously full weekend, and I think I may still be recovering as of this morning {Tuesday!}!!!

I may be back later on to do my Tuesday post as my computer took the whole day to download my 400+ photos from my camera yesterday, hence the reason this post wasn't up yesterday!

Hope you all had a great weekend too and that the last week prior to school is filled with all things lovely and that you're not being driven nuts from the lack of schedule ;)
{XoXo}
