:: Extra Extra Read all about it! ::

Hello All --

Sorry I haven’t been around these parts for a little while, we have been so busy with my brothers 30th Birthday and all of this house stuff – It has been quite overwhelming!

But we have some great news – It appears that we have sold our townhouse!!! We had an offer come in late last night for $2000.00 under our asking price….we countered back and settled at $1400.00 below asking. WE had quite the communication lesson to learn (between Paul and I) which didn’t make the experience such a great one, but all in all we are very pleased with the sale price and the closing dates. We have learned an invaluable lesson in communication – that we hopefully won’t have to learn again as it wasn’t fun!

So there is our HAPPY news!

On another note, today is Kristin’s birthday and I went out and spent the afternoon at her place making gift tags and cards. It was such a great way to spend the afternoon celebrating with her. It was also great to see Bonnie again and meet friends from blog land.

I will take a few shots of the items I made today and post them, just after I finish wrapping my Daddy’s birthday gifts----

:: It's Ours ::

:: Well we signed the papers on the new house today – So it is officially ours! We are so thankful for the deal we got on it and for all of the steps that have brought us to this point ::

:: We had three showings today at our townhouse and we have two more booked for tomorrow – Please continue to pray that our place sells quickly as close to $300,000.00 as possible! We have faith that it will sell in the right time to the right owner. Here is our spec sheet ::

:: Since we are in the mood of selling items we put my (our) car up for sale on buy-sell.com on Friday night and we had a guy call 4 times this week to try and get a time that worked for both of us so that he could check out the car for his little sister (what a great bro eh!?!?) ::

:: Here is my little baby all polished up and ready to go to a great home ::

:: Paul worked on her for about 2 hours and then I went down and joined him for about an hour to finish buffing the polish off of her. That buffing is really hard work!!! ::

:: Jacob and I are off to the doctors tomorrow to have a routine check up and we will probably be crashing at my parents in the afternoon since I can’t go home due to showings :) ::

:: Hope everyone is doing well - the blog world has been quite sparse these days!!!! ::

:: What's New ::

Well we had a very full weekend of house hunting (yes, still) well maybe I should call it comparison shopping, The Vancouver Bridal Trends Show (for a secret someone who is soon to be legal), family meals and lots of visiting with friends from Ontario, and celebrating a 30th Birthday ~ More on all of these below:

So the house saga continues…we had it inspected on Saturday (which thankfully I was away for) and there were a few surprises that we hadn’t noticed when we first walked through the house. Nothing too major though. Nothing in my opinion that would hinder us from purchasing the house, however my Dad would beg to differ. Over many cups of tea and many late nights we have come to the conclusion that the house is “worth it” – the extra fix-ups and time will be well invested in this home and the location of it.

So as of tonight we have secured the deal and we will be delivering the down payment tomorrow and everything will be final by tomorrow @ 11:00 pm. We are getting so excited – there is lots of work to do but it will be so much fun to see our décor thoughts come to life!

We have 4, yes, I said 4 showings tomorrow…I am trying to stay very optimistic that nothing may come of these 4 showings but seeing as our place was just listed last night on the realtor MLS – I think we have a pretty good response. So if you think of us please pray for the sale of this home as it would take a mighty large burden off of our shoulders. I have to say though, through this whole house situation Paul and I have been able to stand back and have faith that God will provide and he has yet to let us down, so we know we just have to continue to have faith and he will see us through! God is SO good!!!

For the last week friends of ours Chris & Sarah have been visiting from Ontario, we have had great times with them over a few different venues – White Spot one day (for Mr. Legendary aka Chris), then my parents dinner table the next day for my brother’s 30th Birthday Party – Here are the pic’s from Jordan’s birthday:
:: Birthday Boy and Lindsey ::
:: Our fabby meal of roast beef and the fixin's :: :: the famous icecream cake - can't beat that! ::
:: We got Jord a subscription to a magazine of his choice but since I didn't have anything to give him I gave him these Chrysler slate coasters, however he thought they were quite cool! ::
:: Spring Daffodil's - I love spring! :::: This is Chris and his lovely bride Sarah, it was great to see you Chris and meet you Sarah. I was glad that we were able to visit as much as we did - you will have to come back soon! ::
:: I think that is about it -- Please if you remember us or run through my blog pray about everyone that walks through our house tomorrow and pray that it sells quick and maybe a bit above asking, that would just be the cherry on top :) ::

:: I will update you with any news as soon as we have it! ::

:: Office - Check ::

:: Three rooms down....Three more to go - Here is the Den/Office that I just finished up ::

:: My Valentine's Treat ::

:: Valentine's Day was so overshadowed by the house deal that we really didn't do anything special, but sometime this week we are going to send Jacob off the G & G's and we are going to go out for dinner to enjoy eachother's company ::

:: We did however exchange little gifts between the two of us. I bought Paul a subscription to "Car & Driver" Magazine for 2 years - it was cheaper to buy it for 2 years instead of 1 :) ::

:: He got me a really nice card, one from him and one from Jacob & then got me a subscription to "Everyday with Rachel Ray" ~ Weird that we would get eachother the same type of gift, but I didn't care...I will enjoy this gift every month when I get it in my mailbox! ::

:: We're getting there ::

:: Well, ever since we have put our house up for sale and purchased the new one (at least on paper). I have been crazy trying to "stage" our home for anyone who wants to look at it. I want it to look the best so the future buyers see the great house that it is...at least for someone just wanting to get into the market! ::
:: So last night we went through Jacobs bedroom and took the 3/4 bed out and re-arranged everything. I think it looks really comfortable now, before it was too squishy but now it's just perfect! ::
:: I also organized our closets, did a deep clean throughout our bedroom and washroom - here is our bedroom all ready to be viewed ::
:: Thank you all for you congratulations - We are really excited and can't wait to sell this place and move on...we are already looking into new appliances for our new place. God has been so good ~ Why do we expect anything less from Him!?!?! ::
:: Well I better go and finish up the main floor so we can pack all the extra stuff and get it over to the storage locker aka. the parents basement :) ::
:: I'll post more pic's once everything esle is in it's place :) ::

:: Down ::

:: Proud Owners ::

:: We are now the proud new owners of this beautiful Home ::

:: We met in the middle for a price and we are satisfied with that...we will still be in Surrey but just on the edge of Langley ~ If all goes as planned we will be in on April 19th. We are a little nervous at the move, it seems like a really big step but in all reality it's just a stepping stone! ::

:: We did it! ::

Well we have put an offer in on the house...not sure if he will take it - We offered him $25,000.00 below asking price. But we think that is fair considering the amount of work that needs to be done as well as the fact that the property backs a main road and that the house has been on the market for 4 months with no bites.
So please pray - We know that if this is the house for us it will all just work out so we really don't have anything to worry about - But please still pray :)
We will be listing our house on the 15th of this month, may as well get the ball rolling! So I am going to be a busy lady tomorrow after I get home from Women by Design. I am going to pack up some of the odds and ends and store them at my parents house until we sell this place. It will just make our closets and bedrooms look a lot less crowded if we clear the clutter! Which will hopefully get a buyer asap!
So we will be spending Valentines with our friends & realtors, Michael & Coby as we need to get our listing finalized and the pictures of our rooms taken for MLS. How "morantic" eh!?!?!
I will keep you updated as soon as the dust settles on the deal - Good or Bad :)
Here are some pictures that were not on MLS, I took these ones tonight:

:: Looking down the hall towards the kitchen from the living room ::

:: Paul and Michael in the family - just to give you a perspective on the size of the room ::

:: Powder room on main....needs updating..what do you think? Currently the countertop is chipped paint ~ Could be a new style? ::

:: Here is another view of the kitchen, it isn't actually as big as the picture looked...because you also have to fit the kitchen table in there! ::

:: Grammie & Jacob having fun in the "new house" ::

:: Happy St. Valentine's Day Everyone - I pray it is most blessed ::

:: We want this one ::

:: This is the house we are looking at tonight :::: The Kitchen :::: The Basement ::
:: Covered outdoor Garage ::
:: Living Room ::
:: Family Room ::
:: Other angle of the Living Room ::
:: Please pray about this house for us; it has been on the market for 4 months and is listed about $30,000.00 more than we want to spend...which is okay but we really want to be in a certain price range. So please pray that if this isn't the one for us that another (better) one will come along and be "perfect" for us ::
