:: Mom's Birthday ::

:: We were planning to go to Williams Park to have a picnic but the weather didn't cooperate so we ended up staying at our place and just hanging out. Here are some of the pics from the day ::
:: Our "picnic" food ::

:: Cute boy shoes are so hard to find! ::
:: Tonight we headed down south to do our typical fill up and dairy load up - My parents had found a super cute pair of thongs (with an elastic back) for Jacob to wear over the summer, however his little feet were just too pudgy for them. I, the horrible Mom I am stuffed his feet in them for a 15 minute car ride and by the end of the ride he had impressions on his feet from the darling little thongs! That just won't do, but they were too darn cute...I don't want to be putting socks and runners on my kid all summer! ::
:: So tonight while we were at Walmart we found these - the typical "crocks" for just $5 - I'm just hoping he'll actually be able to walk in them! ::
:: Then we found these to replace the uber cute thongs - these are not half the shoe the thongs were but why waste the thongs just because they are cute!?!?? So these will have to do, he loved them and his foot fit really well in them. Not as fashionable but they will do! ::

:: Baby No. 2 - First Photo ::
:: Here is our ultrasound (well actually our second) of baby no. 2 - there are definitely some similarities with Jacob, but "she" (as Paul says) seems to have smaller less defined attributes ::
:: Here is the ulstrasound - sorry it's such bad quality, my scanner won't work for me! :: :: Now here is Jacob's ultrasound picture - his was taken 4 weeks earlier ::
:: Now here is the two beside eachother for comparison - Jacob's is on top ::
:: Any guesses to the sex are welcome..if you send me your guess I will put it in our guesses file :) ::
:: Jacob had his first "official" haircut last night - He has had about 4 trims since he was born but we gave him his first big boy cut with the clippers last night ::
:: Here he is with all his crazy glory ::
:: "that comb tickles Daddy" ::
:: Almost all done...what a big {little} boy ::
:: Profile Shot ::

:: Before & After = Powder Room ::

:: Here are before and after pics of our powder room - I think it looked much worse in real life as the countertop had been painted and was peeling as well as the faucet was falling apart and the wallpaper was peeling - it was horrible, but now I would say the powder room is one of my favorite before & afters! ::

:: The green walls actually look much greener than they are - it is more of a muted ocean green than the colour that shows. Here you can see we replaced the sink, faucet, countertop, light fixture, mirror (a steal from Superstore for $24.00), floors, toilet and my favorite part; the wainscotting that my Dad installed. One thing we didn't replace was the cabinet - we just painted it white to match the wainscotting ::
:: Behind the picture - My Grandma Rosie (my dad's mom) gave this floral picture to me - one of the ladies in her home was giving it away and she thought that I would like it, she was right - I love it! I am not much of a flower girl but when I saw it I thought it would look perfect right over the toilet in the powder room and when we were picking out paint colours I had the picture in mind but it wasn't unpacked so I had to pick the wall colour without it. When we finally found it, it was the perfect colour match - just the right shade of green! I was delighted! ::

:: Our Summer Days ::

:: We went to Douglas Water Park yesterday with Lisa & the girls - we had a great time splashing in the water and playing in the playground - even Grammie & Grampy came by to say hello! ::
:: Jacob & Grampy watching his boat go down the "river" ::

:: Jacob's girl, Emma enjoying the swing ::
:: Jacob's older girl, Madelyne enjoying her "eggs" in the sand ::

:: My Preggo Body ::

:: Here I am with baby no. 2 - I am almost 24 weeks pregnant (which is now made official from my ultrasound on Wednesday - I originally thought I was 10 days earlier than I actually am).

:: My official due date is now October 28th - Yikes, that is getting very close to Paul's birthday on November 4th and then mine on November 11th - Oh well, what a birthday gift to receive! ::

:: Monster Cookies ::

:: This afternoon I made a batch of super monster cookies (actually it was a half batch) - It is such a huge batch...it calls for 12 eggs and 18 cups of oatmeal! ::
:: They turned out great - a half batch is probably enough to make at least 6 dozen cookies ~ Yikes! ::

:: Thanks Rachel for the recipe - Paul thanks you ;) ::

:: Trains Trains Trains ::

:: On Saturday morning we headed out to South Surrey to Art Knapps to visit the trains, plants & birds - Jacob had a great time running {or pretending to} about and seeing what new thing was around each corner! Paul on the other hand had a great time dreaming of the day he too could have a train set up in our home. We had a great time adventurizing around! :: :: Later on that day our neighbour dropped by and brought Paul a box full of model {still working} trains! Most of them are in the original boxes and in super good shape...such a blessing & what a day to recieve such a blessing. Just too perfect! ::

:: Long over-due ::

:: I just realized that with all of the renovations I didn't post any photo's from Mother's day - Ugh! I guess I just had too much going on. So here are some pictures from our Mother's Day Brunch at Fort Langley Golf & Country Club with my Mom & Family ::
