:: 2010 ::

:: 2010 had a bit of a rough start for me, I was feeling a little overwhelmed with starting a whole new year. What did it look like, what would be new, what would now be memories...all the 'what if's' roamed through my mind. Now I have to say I'm not a worrier -- so these feelings of feeling unsure overwhelmed me ::

:: Also, along with that I was asking God for a clear word for 2010 -- for it to be something that was from Him, not me. It took a while for Him to respond. I'm rather impatient, so maybe I was also being taught a lesson... ::

:: Then one morning when I was praying before I got out of bed, He said to me as clear as day "PURPOSE". You are to do everything that you do, with PURPOSE. Now I don't know about you, but I don't often do something that doesn't have any PURPOSE, and so when He first said "PURPOSE" I was like, well what the heck do you think I do everything for, the fun of it?!?!?! ::

:: But then as I meditated more on what PURPOSE really meant and if what I do that occupies my time is really on PURPOSE I realized that I have made and create a lot of fluffy stuff in my life -- now don't get me wrong, fluff is good. In proportion to a PURPOSE filled life ::

:: Let me tell you Lovelies, this is not an easy task for me to do...I'm a person that LOVES to have fun and I truly love the fluff - HAHA! So this has definitely been a challenge, refocusing myself and doing things on PURPOSE. Keeping the fluff to a manageable level and leading life through Christ PURPOSEFULLY ::

:: It's a good thing, at least I keep on telling myself that! ::

* * *

:: Happy Monday Y'all! We're doing more laundry, oh joy. But later we're going to watch the torch run through our neighborhood, it's literally 5 blocks from our home, oh happy day! We've got our "Oh Canada" gloves ready thanks to Aunty Lisa ::

:: May your day be filled with PURPOSE and a bit of fluff! ::

:: XO, *S ::

the pleasure of taking pictures of this beautiful Mama and her boy belly {due in just under 3 weeks} ::

:: We had an A M A Z I N G service at church, oh my goodness, Mr. Carl Lentz was visiting from Wave church in Virginia Beach - It was unbelievable! So powerful! I'll try and post a link to the sermon ::

:: Edited: Here is the link to the sermon ::

:: Now the big boys are off to the RV Show in the Valley and the Babe and I are heading down to the States to accomplish and prep for the busy week ahead. :: Powder Room Art ::

:: So here is the finished product of the powder room art. It turned out wonderfully {in my opinion} ::

:: I would still like to put a smaller mat closer into the news papers in a light grey, but I forgot to get them while I was at WalMart today! Duh! ::

:: So what do you think? I think it turned out just beautifully, my Marm thinks it's kinda morbid having the death of a past president plastered on our walls, but it's different for me because I didn't live through it...do you think it's morbid? Even if you do, I still think it's cool! Hahahah ::

:: On a completely unrelated note, I'm posting this under yesterdays date so that I can keep up with a personal challenge I have to post once a day for the month of February {in hopes that I can catch up on the end of 2009 and all the stuff I missed posting about} ::

:: Have a great day y'all and I'll be back on here today at some point between cupcake baking, laundry and the weekly house clean... ::

:: Ed's 'No Number' Birthday ::

:: This past weekend we enjoyed a night out celebrating our friend Ed's 'No Number' birthday -- the party was at there house and was a surprise ::

:: We were to be there by 7.15pm as it was a SURPRISE, but someone {no names mentioned} made us late...grrr! Anyway, we were walking up to the house at precisely 7.15pm when a white car pulled up behind us, Mr. L thought quickly and pulled us into the neighbours driveway and we pretended like we were walking to their house. We then waited for the surprise to go down and then joined the party. Ed said immediately, was that you walking up the street? I recognized the back of your head, nice, and then he thought that's kinda dumb, why would Shawna be walking up our street?!?!? The he thought how great is that our neighbours never go for walks...they just fight - HAHHAHAH!!! ::

:: Here's Trista & her only sibling Tanya - now they both have a little girl each ::

:: Here is Grammie with the little grand girlies watching a movie ::

:: Papa with one of the grand girlies, watching the white elephant gift opening ::
:: Trista {master party planner} getting the beautiful cake ready to present to Ed, she had days of planning all this behind his back, including baking the cake ::

:: Happy Birthday Mr. Ed - So glad we could celebrate your day with you..and glad it turned out to be a surprise! ::

:: Stacie & Ty - She said Y E S ::

:: Back in January, Paul and I had the pleasure of attending our friends Stacie & Tyler's Engagement Celebration in the Big City ::

:: We had a great time meeting Stacie's family {who lives on the Island} and catching up with our friends --- it was a lovely event with delish food, fabulous friends and hilarious entertainment, oh, there wasn't any entertainment, that was
just the boys -- HA! ::

:: After the party we all headed out to Shabusen for a bite of dinner; it was AMAZING food, worth every penny of downtown dining! ::

:: Congratulations Stacie & Ty, we can't wait to celebrate with you in the upcoming months. Stacie, we have all waited for Tyler's bride to come along and we're so glad that he's chosen you! ::

:: Thanks also to M&L for taking our kids for the day...we truly appreciate it! ::

:: So much, and yet so little ::

:: Hey Lovelies, I have SO much to post but such little time; so I choose to post from most important to least..hahaha! ::

:: So it's Monday night and I hunkered in, folded laundry, matched up socks, organized my lingerie drawer and indulged in 'The Bachelor' ::

:: I thought it would be most appropriate to post these newly released photographs of last seasons Bachelorette, Jillian with her chosen beau, Ed -- this was their engagement shoot up in Kelowna near the end of Christmas vacation ::

:: The photos were taken by Wedded Bliss Photography :::: I found the photos here ::

:: There is some serious cute factor in these photos,
just so nice to see! ::

:: Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did -- I'll try to post something about our wonderfully crazy life we lead...Happy February 1st, did it catch anyone else off guard?!?!! ::

:: Powder Room - Re-re Done ::

:: So, I heard that Ralph Lauren paint was no longer being sold at Home Depot as they are now carrying Martha Stewart's line of paint {that woman is everywhere!}. So the other night when Paul and I were in the States we thought we should pop into Home Depot and see if they had any cans left, they did and so we quickly decided on the colour gray we wanted for our room and bought two cans of the interior flat - they were $13.00/can! "Start the car!!! Start the car!!!" I was so stinkin' excited as we've {okay, I} have wanted to paint our room gray since I got new Restoration Hardware bedding for our room back in November {currently it's painted a greenish gray} - so what better time to get the paint, then when it's half off! ::

:: I also told Mr. L that I wanted to paint the powder room again - originally when we first renovated the house, I painted it a light sea green colour, sticking with the light beachy type decor I wanted...who knew my taste would change so much in just 2.5 years! ::
:: This is what the powder room looked like at 1:00 pm on Monday afternoon ::
:: It's nice, light and lovely, except it has bothered me since we moved in that the counter that we ordered for the washroom, looked purple with the green on the walls, instead of grey, black with a bit of brown ::
:: Here we are all ready to paint, cut in first, then roll..it was 1:45 pm on Monday ::

:: And as of 3:30pm on Monday afternoon, this is how we looked {please note I had already touched up the marks that 'the coach' put on the walls} ::
:: I told Paul that I was going to do it, but since he knew how the boys were this morning he didn't figure that I would have gotten to the painting...but the first thing he does after he greets us when he gets home is go to the washroom and wash his hands, boy was he pleasantly surprised! ::
:: He absolutely loves it and so do I! Our house has had some pretty crappy wall touch ups over it's 30 years, and the dark colour doesn't help mask it's issues, so it's not perfect; but nor are we! Ha ha! ::
:: Now, onto the artwork above the toilet, the lovely oval print I have just doesn't go anymore. So I'm at a bit of a loss ::
:: On a whole different note, my neighbour has asked us to help her clear out her house of all the junk and we came across these gems and she gave them
to us, score! ::
:: So maybe I can integrate them into our new powder room, after all don't we all read the paper while on the throne?!?! ::
:: Have a fabulous Tuesday y'all and if you haven't entered the contest from Monday
click here ::

:: I'll be back later to post about our Fly Beau ;) ::

:: My Monday + A Giveaway ::

:: Well, this is what we faced early this morning ::

:: The boys received a new Canucks hockey stick -- we heard them playing with it and thought "oh, isn't that nice that they are playing so nice and not fighting?" --- yeah. Jacob was the one who instigated this one, and told us just that. When Mr. L headed down the stairs to see why they were laughing so hard and came across the two culprits, Jacob said I gave Cole the eggs and he hit's 'em real hard. Mr. L didn't laugh. He disciplined the kids and I laughed and cleaned up the eggy mess. The coach and hockey player had time out in their rooms while we cleaned up the floor ::
:: I had to Lysol the floor and then steam clean it twice with my steam mop to get all the egg up - oy! And that was just the start of the most terrible Monday we've had in a very long time. My mom called this afternoon to see how I was; I said you don't understand, I'm sure she understands though! Our kids are going through a very busy time of toddler-hood and it ends up in hurt feelings, broken toys, too much time spent in time out, and usually a black eye or bruise. It's all a season, so I can laugh about it -- but heaven help us if this carries on much longer! ::
:: So since today has been trying on me, I thought it would be a good day to give something away. It always feels good to give something away and concentrate on the blessings I have {instead of the marks in my fresh painted walls from the 'coach'}...ahem. So all y'all have to do is write a little comment and you could be entered to win this hard cover copy of Family First by Dr. Phil McGraw. When my parent's were going through their books that they were giving away they found it and my Mom thought I could give it away {thanks Marm!}. Apparently my parents read it and since we're all a lost cause {just kidding} they don't need it for reference. I will say that obviously they read it in a tropical climate as I found some sand in the back binding -- Sand & tropical climate not included in the giveaway ;) ::
:: Now, I'll leave you with the sweetest little picture of my boys. They have wanted to sleep together the past few nights and the other night when we were going to bed this is how we found them. What fun little guys they are, the coach and the hockey player...I am blessed. I have to tell you the first thought that entered my mind when I saw all the eggs on the floor was "crap, I should have bought some eggs when I was in the states last night!!" apparently the whole event was not half as amusing to Mr. L :) ::

:: Happy Monday Y'all -- The cut off for entering the contest will be Friday night @ 11:00 pm ::
